Electoral College education: How Americans elect their president

Canadians know well that they do not directly elect the prime minister — in our parliamentary system we elect Members of Parliament and the leader of the party with the most MPs usually becomes prime minister. But in America, the president is elected by winning the most Electoral College votes. Here is how it works.
